Modern, Midcentury Style Vases
Inspiration from organic textures and Midcentury Design
are evident in this collection of modern vases
Hand-made by the artist, Susanne designs each collection starting out on a potter’s wheel. She sculpts and alters the shapes to be asymmetrical, as a purposeful twist on the modern aesthetic.

Susanne is obsessed with texture, so you’ll notice a wide variation of textures throughout the collection in both muted natural colors and brighter pop colors. The unique mix of texture and smooth surfaces in the glazes becomes a rich, layered effect after several firings. Most of the originally formulated glazes are achieved by lots of testing, trial and error, but there is always that delightful happy accident that Susanne tries to recreate whenever it is interesting enough. Taking inspiration from organic textures like pebbles/stones, tree bark, leaves/vines and combining them with modern forms reminiscent of mid-century design, Susanne strives for what she calls Modern Organic Ceramics.
